Darryl Cohen (CRD #2786613) who was formerly registered with Morgan Stanley and located in Westlake Village, California is a subject of one of our many securities industry sales practice abuse investigations. Prior to Morgan Stanley, Darryl Cohen was associated with other investment advisory and brokerage firms with a history of customer complaints and securities industry regulatory problems. Darryl Cohen has had his own share of regulatory problems. In December 2021 he refused to cooperate within or in one of its investigations about whether he converted or improperly used customer funds and was permanently barred from any further association in any capacity in the securities industry. In March 2023 the SEC filed a civil action against him for allegedly defrauding 3 clients who are current and former NBA players. The civil action is still pending. That same day, the United States Attorney’s Office charged him criminally with conspiracy to commit wire fraud arising out of the same alleged misconduct the SEC is pursuing him civilly.
